Dear Murdock Families,
We are so excited to welcome you back for a brand-new school year! Our amazing teachers and staff have been working hard all summer to ensure everything is ready for your children, from freshly waxed cafeteria floors to brand-new boxes of crayons. Every corner of our school has been prepared with care because we can’t wait to see you!
At Murdock, we believe every child can learn at high levels, and we are here to support, encourage, and celebrate every student and family who walks through our doors. Whether it’s the warm breakfast in the morning, a caring smile from a teacher, or a helping hand in the front office, we are a school community that believes in working together.
We are also excited to announce that several of our teachers are in new roles this year—you’ll notice some familiar faces in new places, and we know they will shine in their new grade levels or positions!
Please join us for Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, August 6th at 5:30 PM. Classrooms will be open for you to meet your child’s teacher, find their room, and receive all the important information about the new year. We will need to close the evening by 7:00 PM, so everyone can get a good night’s rest before the first day of school on Thursday, August 7th!
A few helpful reminders:
- The bell rings at 8:15 AM.
- Every student receives a free hot breakfast and delicious lunch daily. Students are still welcome to bring lunch from home and should bring a small snack for recess.
- Backpacks are essential, but don’t worry about other supplies—our teachers have you covered!
- Dismissal times are:
○ TK & Kindergarten: 1:45 PM
○ Grades 1–3: 2:15 PM
○ Grade 4: 2:30 PM
- If your child rides the bus, you must complete a Transportation Permission Slip before they can ride.
- Our main drop-off zone is at the front of the school, where students enter through the cafeteria doors.
- There is also a drop-off and pick-up area in the back of the school on Grove Street, which is especially convenient for TK and Kindergarten families.
- To find out who your child’s teacher is, be sure to log into your Aeries Parent Portal, complete the annual updates, and check that your phone numbers and emergency contacts are current.
- The school office opens on July 21st if you have any questions or need assistance. The office also has printed copies of the 2025–2026 school calendar and the student handbook—just let us know if you’d like one!
We are proud to serve your children and honored to be a part of your family’s school journey. We can’t wait to see you soon!
Warmly,
Stacy Lanzi & Sara Cervantes
